"Mr. Harris, a supremely relaxed and tasteful
crooner in the Nat King Cole tradition . . ."
Stephen Holden, New York Times
"Harris is a velvet-voiced jazz singer,
with a savvy manner and music in his veins.
(Press materials tell us that no less than Louis
Armstrong babysat him when Harris was a child.)"
Steven Suskin, Variety
"Allan Harris's Nat Cole impression is
quite good, and perhaps swings a bit more than
Nat. This recording was performed live at the
Kennedy Center with a solid quintet ensemble.
Jesse Jones on the saxophone has some hip solos
as does Jim Gasior at the piano. There are 13
tunes on this album all of which were Nat Cole
's standard fare. Harris does a remarkable job
in interpreting Cole's music which makes this
record a sure fire bet to please the afficionados
of Nat King Cole's musical legacy. Lack of range
never hurt Nat Cole and shouldn't bother Allan
Harris either." John Gilbert, EJazzNews
